2010 Autumn Winter collection

The AW10 collection entitled ‘Space Sweets’ features huge

sweets flying through the universe on new pattern T-shirts and

dresses. The prints showing doughnut meteors and whipped

cream comets represent the massive freedom of childhood

playfulness. The designs use different scales to show that there is

no limit to your imagination.

From doughnuts soaring through the

Milky Way, to constellations showing faces in the sky, anything is

possible.

Migh-T Brand Concept

“migh-T by Kumiko Watari” was established in 2008 in London.

The concept of the label “migh-T” is “mighty=strong” and also

“my T-shirts” for people who have a strong mind and enjoy

being unique in their lives. Each collection has a background

narrative story and humorous motives. The designer, Kumiko

Watari, studied Japanese traditional textiles and fine art at

Kyoto Citiy University of the Arts before she moved to London.

She graduated from the MA Fashion course at Central Saint

Martins College with Distinction. Kumiko also works as a textile

print designer

Gabriella Marina Gonzalez  A/W10-11 accessories collection

entitled“Victorian SC I-FI Surgery”.

Her work was inspired by exploring

feelings of emotional restrain and uncertainty about her position in time.

"She uses escapism to create a subconscious reality were time has no boundaries and she can bounce from past to future to collect data in an attempt to discover her purpose

in the present". 

"The collection mixes periods and materials

to create a historical camouflage making

it difficult to associate with a particular

period in documented time. This allows

her to jump from era to era collection

data unnoticed in hopes of one

day understanding the world, human

nature and herself.

 The collection was hand made entirely with her own hands

adding a personal and emotional connection to

each individual piece. 

 The collection consist mostly of brown and cream

leathers, bronze fixtures and old stamps

which gives the appearance of being

made from reminisce of an abandoned

Victorian house. 

 The platform shoes are a tool for the explorer. There towering

heights create a pedestal from which she

can look over crowded, infinite seas of

people trying to stay afloat while searching

for answers on this busy planet.
